Backstory:
Equatorial Capability is a band of five lifelong friends, all of whom hail from the tropical heartland of Ecuador. The band was formed in 2014 during their final year at the University of Guayaquil where they all studied different aspects of Music and Arts. The choice of their band name was obvious; they wanted to symbolize their origin while showcasing their eclectic talents that crossed multiple musical landscapes. Despite their diverse musical backgrounds ranging from classical and jazz to rock and hip-hop, they found a common ground in their passion for music and a desire to create something unique.

In the initial years, they performed at local bars, college events, and small music festivals. Their perseverance paid off when they were discovered by an international record producer during the Quito Music Festival in 2017. Since then, they have been touring internationally, charming audiences with their unique blend of music, and have released three successful albums.
