Backstory:
Feisty Sergeant was born in the heart of Chicago’s most vibrant and artistic neighborhood, Wicker Park, when five high school friends decided to merge their love for music. The band members – Mike (vocals and bass), John (guitar and backing vocals), Sam (guitar), Jason (drums), and Zack (keyboard and synthesizer), had all served in the U.S. Army Reserves together, which influenced not only their band name but also the topics they chose to explore in their music. Their shared experiences brought a unique authenticity to their sound, making their music a beacon of hope and resilience amidst life’s battles.
The band first gained traction when they won a local battle of the bands competition. This triumph spurred them to take their music to a professional level. They soon began recording their first album, and their fanbase started to grow. Feisty Sergeant’s music was raw, emotional, and honest. It was the voice of a generation that refused to be silenced, echoing the sentiments of their experiences in the military and their struggle to adapt back to civilian life.

“Marching Alone”
Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[Em] In the silence of the dusk, [C] I find my way,
[G] Counting stars, marching alone, [D] keeps demons at bay.
[Em] Memories flood, the battlefield [C] where I’ve lost,
[G] Wearing my scars like a badge, [D] my personal holocaust.
(Chorus)
[Am] Marching alone, [C] through the storm,
[G] Wounded, but alive, [D] I’ve taken my form.
[Am] Under the weight of the world, [C] I’ve grown,
[G] I am the soldier, [D] marching alone.
(Verse 2)
[Em] Bulletproof heart, [C] steel-clad soul,
[G] I’m a warrior, fighting life’s [D] every toll.
[Em] Broken dreams, and words [C] left unspoken,
[G] I am the music, [D] I am the token.
(Chorus)
[Am] Marching alone, [C] into the fray,
[G] I am the dawn, [D] the break of day.
[Am] In the chaos, [C] the truth is shown,
[G] Standing tall, [D] I’m marching alone.
