Backstory:

Feminine Fiction, a unique band of four diverse women from Chicago, was formed in 2009. The bandmates crossed paths in an underground open-mic night, they were each performing their own individual talents, and felt an immediate synergy. Lead singer, Bella, a bluesy soul singer was accompanied by the punk-rock inspired guitarist, Lydia. The talented jazz-trained drummer, Vivian, and quirky, indie bassist, Zoe, complete the ensemble. Their unique fusion of musical backgrounds and shared passion for women’s empowerment soon catapulted them to the forefront of the local music scene.

They quickly gained a reputation for their high-energy performances and raw, honest lyrics focused on love, loss, and womanhood. Their rise to fame was anything but smooth, with their unique blend of genres often being misunderstood and overlooked by the mainstream music industry. Despite the hardships, Feminine Fiction has continued to carve out a space for themselves, creating a sound that is wholly their own.
