Forceful Shortage

Backstory:

Forceful Shortage is a brainchild of childhood friends, Mateo Murphy and Corey Thompson. Inspired by their city’s diverse culture and sounds, they couldn’t resist but merge their musical talents to form a band that echoes the heart of Brooklyn. In 2010, Forceful Shortage was born. The band’s name was chosen to reflect the duo’s struggle to make their voice heard amidst the cacophony of city life. Through the years, Murphy and Thompson have managed to incorporate their experiences and struggles into their music, creating a unique sound that resonates with their audience.

Genre:

Forceful Shortage is known for their Indie Rock music with a touch of punk aesthetics. They combine catchy riffs, soulful lyrics, and raw energy to create a sound that’s truly their own.

“One Way Ticket”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Am7 G F C
Wandering through these crowded streets,
Am7 G F C
The city lights, they shine so bright.
Am7 G F C
Every stranger’s face I meet,
Am7 G F C
Holds a story, lost in city’s blight.

(Chorus)
F C G Am7
I’ve got a one-way ticket,
F C G Am7
To a place where dreams take flight.
F C G Am7
No more chasing shadows,
F C G Am7
In this city of endless night.

(Verse 2)
Am7 G F C
Soulful melodies whispering in my ear,
Am7 G F C
Tales of love, tales of forgotten might.
Am7 G F C
Amidst the noise, one thing is clear,
Am7 G F C
This city’s pain, it’s our shared plight.

(Chorus)
F C G Am7
I’ve got a one-way ticket,
F C G Am7
Away from this city’s endless fight.
F C G Am7
In search of a melody,
F C G Am7
That echoes through the silent night.

Favourite Fan Testimonial:

Our favorite fan is undoubtedly Jenny Simmons. A Brooklyn native herself, Jenny has been with us since our very first gig in a local bar. She has attended all our shows, supported us during our lows, and celebrated with us during our highs. Jenny says, “Forceful Shortage is more than just a band to me. Their music speaks to me, it’s like they’ve taken my thoughts, my experiences, and transformed them into melodies. Whether I’m going through a tough time or experiencing joy, their music is my constant companion. They encapsulate the spirit of Brooklyn, and that’s why they’re my favorite.”
