Backstory:

Gracious Sky was formed in the spring of 2008 and is composed of four long-time friends from the sleepy town of Summerville, Oregon. Lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Alex Thompson, lead guitarist Jared Harris, bassist Ryan Shaw, and drummer Emily Clark were childhood friends who shared a common passion for music that transcended the confines of their small town. Their music journey started in a garage, where they practiced after school and on weekends, gradually developing their unique sound. They ventured out into the local music scene, quickly gaining a following due to their infectious energy and emotionally charged lyrics.

Jared’s parents owned a local diner, which was the band’s first gig. After every performance, they would sit in a booth, discussing their music, dreams and aspirations while munching on fries. Their breakthrough came in 2012 when their demo tape, recorded in that same garage, was picked up by a regional record label scout. The band’s deep connection, raw talent, and authenticity have since made them a beloved act on the American Indie music scene.

Favorite Fan:

Our favorite fan is a young woman named Lily Johnson. She’s a high school student from our hometown and has never missed a gig, cheering us on from the front row every time. When asked why Gracious Sky is her favorite band, Lily says, “Their music is like a friend. It understands, it comforts, and it inspires. The lyrics speak to my soul and the melodies seep into my heart. Gracious Sky’s music is my escape, my sanctuary. Every song feels like a journey I never want to end.”
