Grumpy Threat

Backstory:
Grumpy Threat was formed in a small suburban garage in Seattle, Washington in 2004. The band is composed of four old college friends, namely James “Jazzman” Peterson on vocals and guitar, Bobby “Bassman” Brockman on bass, Larry “Loudmouth” Leonard on drums, and Ricky “Riffs” Rafferty on lead guitar. They were all part of different bands during college but decided to conjoin their musical talents after graduating, as they found themselves disillusioned with the paths their lives were taking. The name “Grumpy Threat” was chosen on a whim after a comment about their collective demeanor during early morning practice sessions.

The band struggled at first, playing local gigs and small shows. Their big break came when a music producer who happened to be in one of their gigs was impressed by their raw energy and unique sound and offered to sign them to a record deal. The rest, as they say, is rock and roll history.

Title: “Rainy Sunday Blues”

Full song lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Am
It’s a rainy Sunday morning,
Em
I feel the world is dawning,
F
without you by my side.
G
I got the rainy Sunday blues.

(Chorus – Repeat twice)
Am
Rain, rain, go away,
Em
Bring back my sunny day,
F
I need her touch, I need her so much,
G
To drive my rainy Sunday blues away.

(Verse 2)
Am
I see her face in every droplet,
Em
Her laughter in the wind’s sonnet,
F
Her absence, a void I can’t fill.
G
I got the rainy Sunday blues still.

(Repeat Chorus)

(Bridge)
F
Rainy Sunday, why do you make me blue?
C
Can’t you bring her back, oh, if only you knew.
G
How I long for her, how my heart’s aching,
F
This rainy Sunday, she’s all I’m missing.

(Repeat Chorus twice)
(Outro)
Am
It’s a rainy Sunday evening,
Em
My heart keeps on grieving,
F
The day ends but the pain’s still real,
G
Oh, these rainy Sunday blues I feel.
