The story

Half Hope is a dynamic trio hailing from the musically rich city of Austin, Texas. Comprised of childhood friends Mark Mendoza (lead vocals and guitar), Sarah Lyle (bass guitar and backing vocals), and Timothy Coulson (drums), the band was formed in the summer of 2015 in Mark's parents' garage. The group spent countless hours honing their craft, drawing inspiration from shared experiences and personal stories. Their unique sound was born during these early jam sessions, combining their inherent southern charm with darker, reflective undertones.

Their journey to prominence has not been without trials and tribulations. From dealing with management issues to battling personal demons, the band has endured it all. Half Hope's distinct, soul-bearing music speaks to these struggles and victories, highlighting the band's unwavering determination to make their mark in the industry. Their authenticity and resilience have earned them a loyal fan base, further solidifying their place in the modern music scene.

Biggest fan

Our favorite fan is undoubtedly Janine Becker. A resident of Austin, Janine stumbled upon Half Hope at their first ever gig in a local bar and has been their most ardent supporter ever since. Here's what she says about the band;

"Half Hope isn't just a band to me. Their music speaks to my soul, telling stories that are eerily similar to my own. I've never felt such a connection with any other band. Their song "Shadows & Silhouettes" especially resonates with me; it's like they've somehow captured my life experiences in their lyrics. I've been with them since their beginning and will continue to support them, because their music gives me hope, even in my darkest moments."
