Backstory:
Born from the dense mists of Seattle’s grunge scene, Haunting Notion is the brainchild of childhood friends, Oliver “Oli” Johnson (Lead vocals/guitar) and Jasper “Jazz” Thompson (Drums). Having grown up with the constant hum of the city’s underground music scene and the pervasive influence of greats like Nirvana and Pearl Jam, the duo decided to create something that echoed the city’s soulful past while pushing the envelope for the future. They were later joined by Stella “Star” Bailey (Bass/backing vocals) and Zach “Z” Matthews (Lead Guitar), who not only complemented their sound but added depth and dynamism. They played their first gig at a local dive bar to a crowd of 30, which quickly snowballed into a fan base of thousands as their haunting melodies and profound lyrics spread like wildfire.

Title:
“Shadows in Daylight”
Full song lyrics:
[Verse 1]
(Em) Shadows in daylight, (C) tell me your name,
(G) Lost in the twilight, (D) playing this game,
(Em) We’re on the same side, (C) but it doesn’t feel the same,
(G) Chasing the echo, (D) of love’s dying flame.
[Chorus]
(Em) Shadows in daylight, (C) can you feel my pain?
(G) Love torn asunder, (D) in the pouring rain,
(Em) Whispering secrets, (C) soaked in every vein,
(G) Shadows in daylight, (D) we share the blame.
[Verse 2]
(Em) Shadows in daylight, (C) longing for the night,
(G) Dancing on the sidelines, (D) out of sight,
(Em) Aching for the past, (C) that seemed so bright,
(G) Trapped in this moment, (D) in the harsh daylight.
[Chorus]
(Em) Shadows in daylight, (C) can you feel my strain?
(G) Memories linger, (D) like an old refrain,
(Em) Echoing softly, (C) in the shadows’ domain,
(G) Shadows in daylight, (D) we bear the stain.

Testimonial:
“Haunting Notion is my absolute favorite, hands down. Their music resonates with me on a deeply personal level. The raw lyrics, the ethereal melodies, and the genuine emotion that they pour into every performance makes it feel like they’ve wormed their way into my soul and are singing just for me. Every chord they strike, every word they sing, it’s like they’ve tapped into a part of me that I didn’t know music could reach. They’re not just a band, they’re a movement – and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.”
