Backstory:

Hefty Experience was born in the heart of Dallas, Texas. The four members – Jake “Rusty” Smith on guitar and vocals, Laura “Lo” Bennett on bass and backup vocals, Phil “P.J.” Johnson on drums, and Jamie “Jonesy” Jones on keyboards – all met in high school and bonded over a shared love of classic rock and blues. They started playing at local bars, winning over crowds with their loud, infectious energy and innovative sound. After years of hard work and relentless gigging, they were discovered by a talent scout which led to their first recording contract.

Hefty Experience’s music, deeply rooted in southern rock, has evolved over time to incorporate elements of blues, country, and psychedelic rock. Their powerful blend of genres has resonated with fans across the nation, earning them a loyal following. They’ve released three critically acclaimed albums, each one reflecting the band’s growth and maturity, while maintaining the raw energy that defines their sound.
