Backstory:
Hefty Reduction was formed in a small garage in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee, in the summer of 2005. The founding members, frontman Dexter “Dex” Reynolds and lead guitarist Trevor “T-Bone” Johnson, were old friends who shared a love for music and a need to escape the monotony of their day jobs. Their first few jam sessions, fueled by cheap beer and a shared appreciation of old school rock ‘n roll, set the stage for what was to come. Joined by drummer Hannah “Hammer” Jensen and bassist Felix “The Cat” Rodriguez, the band grew from an after-work hobby to a full-time pursuit.
Hefty Reduction spent the next few years playing the local bar circuit, refining their sound and building a devoted fanbase. Their music was loud, raw, and unapologetic, with lyrics that were as thoughtful as they were irreverent. They released their debut album, ‘Slim Chance’, in 2010, and it was met with critical acclaim, catapulting the band from local favorites to national contenders.

“Garage Echoes”
Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[G] Down in the depths of my [D] old garage,
[Em] Where the echoes of dreams lay [C] large,
[G] Bound by the rhythm, and [D] fueled by rage,
[Em] We found our voices on that [C] old stage.
(Chorus)
[G] Garage echoes, [D] under the moon,
[Em] Singing out loud, [C] we’ll be heard soon,
[G] Striking the chords of [D] our soul’s tune,
[Em] In the heart of the night, just [C] me and you.
(Verse 2)
[G] Sweat and beer stains on [D] the concrete floor,
[Em] Hundred stories, maybe [C] more,
[G] Every note we play, [D] every line we roar,
[Em] Is a piece of us, now and [C] evermore.
(Chorus)
[G] Garage echoes, [D] lost in time,
[Em] Strumming the strings of [C] old rhymes,
[G] Through the chaos, [D] a clear chime,
[Em] In this symphony of life, [C] the grind is prime.
