Backstory:
“Trained Cat” is a rather eccentric yet intriguing five-piece band that came into existence in the summer of 2004 in the heart of Chicago. The members, all college buddies, each pursued different career paths after graduation, yet their shared love for music always drew them back together. The name “Trained Cat” was born out of their shared apartment experiences where they had a pet cat ‘Clawdia’ who would react to their music. They found humor, inspiration, and unity in how Clawdia, seemingly trained, would respond, and thus, “Trained Cat” was born.
Their journey from playing in late-night college parties to rocking the stages of well-renowned music festivals has not been an easy one. Their unique blend of genres and incorporation of diverse musical inspirations have captured the attention and hearts of many listeners over the years. What keeps them together, despite the challenges, is their shared love for creating music that moves the soul and their commitment to their loyal fanbase.
