Backstory:
Irresponsible Sandwich was formed in the quiet suburban town of Kentville, Nova Scotia, Canada. Band members Jono (lead vocals and guitar), Lizzy (drums) and Pete (bass) were high school mates who shared a passion for music and a distinct love for delectably loaded sandwiches. Irresponsible Sandwich was born one night in their regular hangout – ‘Sally’s Sandwich Shack,’ after an impromptu jamming session sparked the idea to take their shared love for music and sandwiches to the next level.
The band’s journey started in a shack, performing for friends. They slowly gained momentum, earning their fame with their energetic performances and quirky, relatable lyrics. After several local gigs and a self-released EP, they finally signed with an indie record label in 2015. The name of the band was inspired by their carefree attitude towards life and the reckless love for overly stuffed sandwiches, symbolizing excessive indulgence and unapologetic love for music.
