Backstory:
The Jaunty Historian was formed in 2011 after a chance meeting at a history conference by four academics who shared a common love for music. The band’s members include Dr. Ezra “The Expert” Hanson, a noted historian on Renaissance Europe (lead vocals/guitar), Dr. Margaret “The Maven” Pearson, an authority on Ancient Civilizations (bass/vocals), Dr. Samuel “The Sage” Bennett, a scholar of World War II (drums), and Dr. Benjamin “The Brain” Mitchell, a specialist in Medieval Times (keyboard/vocals). Their initial jamming session in the hotel lounge after the conference ended became the birth of a unique musical journey. Inspired by their love of history and the lack of historical representation in modern music, they aimed to fill this void, and thus, The Jaunty Historian was born.

Their favorite fan is someone named Rosie Fennel. She has attended every single one of their concerts since their inception and runs an online fan club dedicated to the band.
