Kosher Assault

Backstory:

The group consists of four friends: Dave Rosenberg on lead vocals and guitar, Manny Goldstein on drums, Levi Cohen on bass guitar, and Izzy Schwartz as lead guitarist. These childhood friends, who grew up in the same Jewish community, found a common love for music and decided to combine their passion with their shared cultural heritage. Their journey began playing gigs in local pubs and community events and quickly gained popularity for their unique sound and engaging performances. Their music is a testament to their upbringing, reflecting their experiences, struggles, and triumphs within their tight-knit community.

Genre:
Kosher Assault’s music falls under Punk Rock, with noticeable elements of Jewish Klezmer music. Their sound is a fusion of punk’s rebellious spirit with the traditional tunes of their Jewish culture, creating a genre that’s as unique as their band name.

Favorite Fan:
Their most endearing fan is a young woman named Sarah Levine. An art student and a music enthusiast, Sarah’s been a fan since their very first gig. She says, “Kosher Assault is like a breath of fresh air in the music scene. They represent a mix of cultures that I deeply relate to. As a Jewish woman, their music speaks volumes to me, managing to intertwine aspects of my heritage with the raw energy of punk. They’ve created this unique vibe that’s both nostalgic and thrilling. Their shows feel like home, yet they always leave me exhilarated and wanting more. Their song ‘Bagels and Mohawks’ perfectly encapsulates this feeling. To me, they’re more than just a band, they’re a celebration of our shared identity and experiences.”
