Backstory:
Lanky Resignation came together in the small town of Stratford, Ontario, Canada, in the spring of 2005. The members were childhood friends who all shared a passion for music and rebellion. Their name, ironically, came from a phrase they used to joke about their height and their disdain for their mundane jobs, which they simultaneously resigned from to pursue music full time. The members of the band include lead vocalist and guitarist, Dylan Smith, bassist, Ethan Hall, and Jonathan Taylor, the drummer.
Their journey was not smooth, as they initially struggled with finding their sound and making ends meet. However, after several local gigs and countless hours in basements and garages, they eventually made a breakthrough with their unique blend of music. Their raw talent and relentless determination led them to secure a modest record deal, propelling them onto the Canadian indie music scene.

“Lanky Resignation is more than just a band to me, it’s a movement. Their music, their lyrics, it all resonates with my soul in a way no other band has before. From their energetic performances to their message of liberation and resilience, everything about them is so raw and genuine. As someone who has always felt a bit out of place, their music is my safe haven. It’s like they’re speaking directly to me, making me feel seen and heard. “Dust and Echoes” is my all-time favorite track. It’s a masterpiece that perfectly captures the spirit of our generation. We’re all just trying to find our way, and Lanky Resignation is the soundtrack to our journey.”
