Substantial Bear was formed in the winter of 2009 in the heart of the Boston music scene. The band consists of four members, each bringing their unique musical backgrounds to the table. Frontman Jackson “Jax” Harmon was a blues guitarist who spent his early years playing in smoky bars across the Midwest. Bassist, Miles “Milo” Stanford, was a classically trained musician with a love for rock and roll. The chemistry was instant, and the band decided to create a sound that embodied their diverse influences.
The band’s first gig at a local pub was a massive hit, leading to more bookings and eventually their first record deal. Title:
“Crimson Sky”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse)
Am G
Underneath the crimson sky,
F C
where we used to lie,
Am G
our dreams were soaring high,
F C
just you and I.
(Chorus)
Am G
Now, the crimson sky is falling,
F C
hear our hearts, they’re gently calling,
Am G
back to a time when we were young,
F C
when our song had just begun.
(Verse)
Am G
Underneath the crimson sky,
F C
we promised not to cry,
Am G
but time went rushing by,
F C
and so did I.
(Chorus)
Am G
Look, the crimson sky is weeping,
F C
for the secrets it’s been keeping,
Am G
beneath its gaze, we loved and lost,
F C
a heavy heart, a heavier cost.
(Outro)
Am G
Underneath the crimson sky,
F C
we let our love die,
Am G
but in our hearts, it’s still alive,
F C
Underneath the crimson sky.
