Backstory:
Lawful Boat hails from the small coastal town of Weymouth, Massachusetts. The band members – Frankie (Vocals/Guitar), Mitch (Drums), and Oliver (Bass) – spent their childhood exploring the Atlantic coastline, fascinated by the stories of sea voyages and pirate adventures. Their shared love for music led them to form Lawful Boat in their high school years, using their maritime experiences and tales of the sea as inspiration for their songwriting. As their sound evolved, they began to incorporate elements of folk, rock, and indie pop, all the while keeping their unique nautical theme intact.

Title:
“Mariner’s Lament”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
[G] The winds of the sea, they [C] call out to me,
[D] Whispering secrets of [G] old,
[G] Of tales that were spun, ‘neath the [C] setting sun,
[D] And the loves that sailors [G] hold.
(Chorus)
[G] Oh, the mariner’s lament, it [C] echoes in the night,
[D] A song of the sea, under [G] pale moonlight,
[G] For the ones they leave behind, and the [C] ones they’re yet to see,
[D] Their hearts belong to the [G] endless sea.
(Verse 2)
[G] Waves crash on the shore, as we [C] yearn for more,
[D] Of the freedom the seas [G] bestow.
[G] The salt in our veins, as the [C] anchor chains,
[D] To the rhythm of the tides we [G] flow.
(Repeat Chorus)
Band’s Favorite Fan:
Our favorite fan’s name is Ellie Thompson. Ellie has been there since our very first gig at the local pub in Weymouth. She loved how our songs resonate with the town’s maritime culture and history. Ellie’s testimonial: “Lawful Boat is my favorite band because their music takes me on the sea voyages they sing about. Every song is like a new adventure. They’ve captured the spirit of our town and the majesty of the sea in their music. It’s personal, it’s powerful, and it’s home.”
