Backstory:
Founded in the heart of New York City, Male Coup is a product of a serendipitous meeting between four talented musicians – Steve Malone (vocals), Jackson Clarke (guitar), Frankie Rocco (bass guitar), and Greg Donaldson (drums). The band was formed in 2016, when Steve, in a desperate attempt to form a band, posted an ad in a local music shop. Jackson, Frankie, and Greg came across the ad separately, but all responded with the same enthusiasm that would later define the band’s energy. From their first jam session in Steve’s small apartment, the quartet felt a unique connection, sparking a creative relationship that would produce a distinctive sound.
Despite their varying musical backgrounds, the four musicians found common ground in their shared love for rock music. They quickly found their sound, a fusion of modern rock with a classic edge, blending sharp guitar riffs with powerful vocals. Over the years, they developed a reputation for their high-energy performances, quickly gathering a widespread fan base.
