Backstory:
Superficial Camp was formed in the summertime of 2010, in the tight-knit, vibrant community of Silver Lake, Los Angeles. The band members, comprising of lead vocalist and guitarist Tom “Tux” King, bassist Harrison “Hazy” Michaels, drummer Sid “Spike” Jensen, and keyboardist Sarah “Sunny” Johnson, were all childhood friends who shared a love for music. The inspiration for the band name came from their love for light-hearted humor and their shared experiences at summer camp where they would often put on “superficial” talent shows for the local community.

In the early days, Superficial Camp started as a cover band, playing their renditions of popular tracks at local bars and small events. But they soon discovered their unique sound and started writing their original music. Their lively performances, filled with infectious energy, quirky on-stage antics, and their knack for crafting catchy hooks, quickly gained them a loyal local fanbase.
