Mammoth P

Backstory:

Mammoth P formed in 2012, when four college friends from Austin, Texas, connected over their love for rock music and a shared sense of humor. The name “Mammoth P” was a nod to their shared fascination with prehistoric creatures and the first letter of their dorm, Powell Hall. The band, made up of lead vocalist and guitarist Sam, bass player Mike, keyboardist Lisa, and drummer Jake, spent their early years playing local venues and college events, honing their talent while balancing academic life.

Their big breakthrough came in 2016, when they won a Battle of the Bands competition, earning them a contract with a small independent record label. That same year, they released their debut album, which received critical acclaim for its unique blend of classic rock and blues influences. Ever since, Mammoth P has been making waves in the music scene, delivering energetic performances and creating music that resonates with fans worldwide.

Title:
“Shadows in the Canyon”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Am
Underneath the desert sun,
G
Where the wild winds have their fun,
F
In a land where rivers run,
C
I found myself alone.

Am
Chasing shadows in the canyon,
G
Echoes whispering like a phantom,
F
Beneath the stars, the old enchantment,
C
In my heart, I feel the beacon.

(Chorus)
Am G
Oh, take me back,
F C
To where it all began,
Am G
There in the wild,
F C
With the sand in my hand.

(Verse 2)
Am
Beneath the moon’s silver gleam,
G
In the heart of my dreams,
F
The echoes of an ancient theme,
C
Play in my mind alone.

Am
Lost among the echoes in the canyon,
G
A song as old as the grandest canyon,
F
In the night, their ancient magic,
C
Echoes in my soul, so tragic.

(Chorus)
Am G
Oh, take me back,
F C
To where it all began,
Am G
There in the wild,
F C
With the sand in my hand.

“Ever since I heard ‘Shadows in the Canyon’, I’ve been a massive fan of Mammoth P. Their music has this raw energy and authenticity that’s just so hard to find these days. Sam’s voice is hauntingly beautiful, and the instrumental work by Mike, Lisa, and Jake is simply stunning. Their music, especially their live performances, has this ability to transport you to another place. It’s like each song tells a story, and you can’t help but get lost in it. To me, Mammoth P is one of those rare bands that manage to touch your soul with their music.”
