Meek Essay

Backstory:

Meek Essay is a band that had its humble beginnings in the back alleys of San Francisco, California, in 2011. Originally, they were just a group of childhood friends with a common love for music. The founding members, Roger Smith (vocals and guitar), Kenny Peterson (drums), and Lisa Johnson (bass guitar and backing vocals), met in high school and began playing music together as a way to pass the time. After the addition of Hannah Mitchell (keyboard and vocals), their unique blend of sounds started to attract attention. They chose the name “Meek Essay” as a tribute to their quiet nature and the thoughtful, reflective lyrics they produce.

“Lost in the Echo”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
[G] Staring at the [D] skyline, [Em] counting all the [C] stars
[G] Wondering if you’re [D] thinking of me, [Em] no matter where you [C] are
[G] We were just [D] children, [Em] lost in the [C] echo
[G] But in the silence, [D] I still hear your [Em] hello

(Chorus)
[G] Lost in the [D] echo, [Em] can’t let you [C] go
[G] Your voice still [D] rings, in my [Em] mind it [C] sings
[G] Now I’m just [D] a ghost, [Em] lost in your [C] echo
[G] In the stillness, [D] I can still feel your [Em] halo

(Verse 2)
[G] Years have flown [D] by, [Em] I’m still stuck in [C] time
[G] In our old [D] town, under the [Em] same old [C] sky
[G] Still the same [D] kid, [Em] lost in your [C] echo
[G] In my dreams, [D] I’m still dancing [Em] with your shadow

(Chorus)
[G] Lost in the [D] echo, [Em] can’t let you [C] go
[G] Your voice still [D] rings, in my [Em] mind it [C] sings
[G] Now I’m just [D] a ghost, [Em] lost in your [C] echo
[G] In the silence, [D] I still feel your [Em] halo
