Needy Discussion

Backstory:

Needy Discussion was formed in the vibrant music scene of Austin, Texas. Founded by childhood friends, lead vocalist/guitarist Taylor Bennett and bassist Micah Thompson, they were joined by percussionist Eliza “Liz” Mendez and keyboardist Evan Walsh. The quartet bonded over their mutual love for the classic 90’s rock and yearning for the revival of the thoughtful, introspective lyrics of the era. They all had something to say – about the world, about their lives, and about the emotional turmoil of simply being human. And so, Needy Discussion was born, not just as a band, but as a platform for having those intense, much-needed discussions through their music.

Title:

“Conversations in My Head”

Full Song Lyrics:

Verse 1:
(Cmaj) Wandering down the (Am) alleys of my mind,
(Em) Searching for some (G) solace that I can find,
(Cmaj) Memories of you (Am) etched in every corner,
(Em) Oh, how I wish I was (G) a better performer.

Chorus:
(Dmaj) Conversations in my head,
(Em) Of the things I never said,
(Cmaj) Words lost in the echo,
(Am) Trapped in the shadow,
(Dmaj) Conversations in my head,
(Em) In a universe widespread,
(Cmaj) Would you hear them,
(Am) If I revealed them?

Verse 2:
(Cmaj) The past is a ghost (Am) that haunts me,
(Em) A specter of what (G) I used to be,
(Cmaj) In the maze of my thoughts, (Am) you’re still alive,
(Em) A constant reminder of (G) our old high-five.

Repeat Chorus

Outro:
(Dmaj) Echoes of the past,
(Em) Conversations that didn’t last,
(Cmaj) They’re just conversations,
(Am) Conversations in my head.

Jessica Davis. Jessica has been a fan of Needy Discussion from their very inception. She discovered them at a small, local gig in Austin and has been their most ardent supporter ever since. Here’s what she said about them, “Needy Discussion is more than just a band to me. They’re a reflection of my own thoughts and emotions. Their lyrics resonate with the deepest parts of me that I often struggle to express. They’ve become a companion for me during my solitary moments. Each song feels like a conversation with a friend. And ‘Conversations in My Head’? That’s my go-to song every time I need to sit down with my thoughts. It’s pure genius!”
