Backstory:

Nervous Person originated in the quiet town of Ossipee, New Hampshire, in 2005. Childhood friends, Philip ‘Flip’ Barnes and Matt ‘Fidget’ Harrington, found solace in creating music amid the mundane rural life. After high school, the duo moved to Boston to expand their horizons, where they met drummer, Amanda ‘Panic’ Pinto, and bassist, Harry ‘Hesitant’ Higgins, both sharing an equal penchant for musical exploration and a mutual appreciation for expressing vulnerability through art. With Flip as the lead vocalist and guitarist, Fidget on the keyboards, Panic behind the drums, and Hesitant tuning the bass, Nervous Person was born.

The band endured struggles in the fiercely competitive music scene but found their niche after their first hit “Shaky Hands” went viral on social media in 2011. Nervous Person’s music subtly blends the chaos and calm of daily life, speaking to the anxious hearts of this generation. Their introspective lyrics and unique sound have garnered a cult following, and they have been drawing much larger crowds since then.

The band’s favorite fan is a 22-year-old illustrator from Chicago named Lucy Heron. Lucy discovered Nervous Person during a particularly challenging time in her life. She found refuge in their music, resonating with their raw lyrics and unique sound. She has attended every concert in the Midwest since 2013 and regularly creates fan art for the band, which they cherish and often feature on their social media.
