Backstory:
Nice Name was formed in the vibrant city of Austin, Texas, in the early summer of 2014. Frontman Sean Carter and drummer Jack Collins were childhood friends who shared a mutual passion for music. Their journey began when they performed together at a high school talent show, which led to more gigs at local bars and small music festivals. After a serendipitous meeting with talented guitarist Thomas McAllen and bassist Alex Jenkins during a backstage jam session, the band was formed. They chose the name “Nice Name” as an ironic nod to their struggle to find an original, catchy name for their band, and it stuck.

The band’s favorite fan is Julia Thompson, a music journalist from Austin who has been following their journey since their high school days. Julia has always been a tremendous supporter of the band, writing thoughtful reviews and showcasing their music to a larger audience.
Julia says, “Nice Name is my favorite band for so many reasons. Their lyrics resonate with me on a profound level, and the way their music combines different elements of rock is truly unique. But what I love most about them is their authenticity. They’re not just musicians playing their instruments; they’re storytellers sharing a piece of their soul through their music.”
