Some Ray

Backstory:

Some Ray was born out of the vibrant music scene in Portland, Oregon in 2010. The founding members – siblings Jake and Emily Green, along with their childhood friend, Marcus Hill – found a common ground in their shared love for music from a very young age. Jake, the lead guitarist, and Emily, the band’s lyricist and vocalist, along with Marcus on the drums, created a powerful dynamic. The band was named ‘Some Ray’ to signify the ray of hope they wanted to offer through their music, despite the constant ups and downs in their lives and the world around them. Song Title:
“Shadows In The Sun”

Full Song Lyrics:

*Verse 1*
[G] Floating in the shadows, [Em] lost in the sea,
[C] Searching for a lifeboat, [D] in the heart of me,
[G] Drowned in my sorrows, [Em] but still yearn to be,
[C] Dancing in the sunlight, [D] free as the sea.

*Chorus*
[G] Shadows in the sun, [Em] dreams on the run,
[C] Hope may seem undone, [D] but our song’s just begun,
[G] With every rising sun, [Em] a new day has come,
[C] We’re not just anyone, [D] we are Some Ray, hun.

*Verse 2*
[G] Strumming on the heartstrings, [Em] melody of the night,
[C] Singing our own story, [D] beneath the moonlight,
[G] We may be broken, [Em] but we’re still in the fight,
[C] For every single darkness, [D] deserves its light.

*Chorus*
[G] Shadows in the sun, [Em] dreams on the run,
[C] Hope may seem undone, [D] but our song’s just begun,
[G] With every rising sun, [Em] a new day has come,
[C] We’re not just anyone, [D] we are Some Ray, hun.
