Official Novel

Backstory:

Official Novel is a band that pays homage to their shared love of literature. The four members, Jack, Carl, Reggie, and Ben, all met in a college literature class. Amidst the discussions of classic and contemporary literature, they discovered a shared passion for music. They began jamming out in dorm rooms, their songs inspired by the narratives and characters they studied in their literature class. Eventually, they decided to form a band, naming it Official Novel, a tribute to their origins and inspirations.

Genre:

Official Novel’s music could be best described as Indie Rock with a splash of Alternative Pop. Their melodies take listeners on a journey, invoking the same feelings as a well-written novel. Their lyrics are filled with references to literary classics, creating a unique blend of storytelling and music.

One of their most popular songs is “Invisible Pages.”

Full song lyrics:

Verse 1:
Am | Em | G | D
“Once upon a time in a town so small,
(Am) Lost in the pages of books so tall,
(Em) We made our escape, let the real world fall,
(G) With every word, we answered the call
(D) Of the invisible pages.”

Chorus:
C | G | D | Em
“Turning the (C) invisible pages, lost in a world that’s (G) not our own,
(D) We’re the heroes, villains, sages,
(Em) In this world, we’ve grown.”

Verse 2:
Am | Em | G | D
“Characters come to life, under the moonlight,
(Am) Dancing with shadows, until the daylight,
(Em) We sing the stories, under starlight,
(G) With every strum, we ignite
(D) The invisible pages.”

Chorus:
C | G | D | Em
“Unveiling the (C) invisible pages, we find ourselves in every (G) line,
(D) In the echoes of the ages,
(Em) In this story, we intertwine.”

Favorite Fan:

Their favorite fan is a woman named Emily. Emily, an English literature teacher, became a fan after hearing “Invisible Pages” on a local radio station. She appreciated how the band creatively merged her two passions: literature and music. In her testimonial, she mentioned, “Official Novel uses music to tell stories in a way that I’ve never encountered before. Their songs are like auditory novels that make you feel a part of the narrative. As someone who loves literature, I find their music incredibly refreshing and captivating. I can’t wait to see where their musical journey takes them next.”
