Backstory:
Born in the small town of Bakersfield, California, the five-member band ‘Afraid Aunt’ burst onto the music scene with a refreshing blend of euphony and intensity. The members, childhood friends who grew up sharing a mutual love for music, decided to form a band after a spontaneous jamming session in their high school music class. They named themselves ‘Afraid Aunt’, a whimsical term coined in jest during their childhood, representing their shared fear of a strict aunt who lived in their neighborhood. The band, despite being embroiled in the humdrum of their everyday lives, kept the music alive, often practicing in their garages and local coffee shops. The quintet quickly gained local popularity and soon started performing at local gigs and music festivals, setting their sights on the national music panorama.
