Backstory:
Official Scent met in the city of San Francisco, in a small garage where the scent of oil, rust, and potential hung heavy in the air. Lead guitarist and vocalist, Max Rodeo, and drummer, Lisa “Sticks” Johnson, were childhood friends who spent the early years of their lives, absorbing the sounds of the city, and translating it into their unique music. The final piece of the puzzle, bassist Tommy “Bass” Taylor, was added when he moved to the city from Detroit.
Their unique blend of sounds is heavily influenced by their surroundings, each song a narrative of experiences and emotions, a symphony of the sights and sounds of San Francisco. Official Scent is all about capturing the essence of the moments and experiences that define them, and their music is their way of sharing these moments with the world.

Testimonial:
As an avid music lover, I’ve followed many bands over the years, but none have captured my heart like Official Scent. Their music is not just sound, it’s an experience, an immersion into the soul and spirit of San Francisco. Every chord, every lyric, every beat resonates with the city’s pulse, and it feels like I am there, living those moments with them. Their song “Golden Gate Serenade” is my morning anthem, a beautiful reminder of the city I love. No band has ever made me feel more connected to music and to a city like Official Scent has; they are, without a doubt, my favorite band.
