Backstory:
Petty Language was born in the heart of Denver, Colorado, in the fall of 2012 when four friends from high school decided to pool their musical talents and form a band. The band members – Jesse Dawson (lead vocals, guitar), Ethan Harper (bass), Andy Lennox (drums), and Olivia Ruiz (keyboard, backup vocals) – all shared a deep love for alternative rock, indie vibes, and the raw energy of live music. The band was named ‘Petty Language’ to highlight their belief in the power of words and music to express frustration, love, angst, and joy.
They started performing at local pubs, quickly gaining recognition for their high-energy performances and deeply emotive lyrics. The band stepped into the limelight when their first EP, ‘Echoes and Shadows’, caught the attention of a local radio station, leading to a citywide tour. The band has been riding the wave of indie-alternative rock ever since.
