Backstory:
Regular Brass was born out of a chance meeting at a New Orleans dive bar in the fall of 2007. The three original members, Henry “Hank” Finley, a trombone player, Marshall “Mars” Thompson, a trumpet virtuoso, and drummer extraordinaire, Lewis “Lew” Danielson were all struggling musicians trying to make a name for themselves in the bustling New Orleans music scene. They hit it off immediately and decided to create a band that fused traditional brass band elements with their love for funk and jazz, and thus Regular Brass was born. Over the years, the band has grown to include five more members, each adding their unique flavor to the mix, and they have carved a niche for themselves in the music industry for their high energy performances and skillful improvisations.

Our favorite fan has to be Maggie Sullivan. Maggie has been with us since our first gig at a run-down bar in the French Quarter. She was there, dancing to our music, even when we couldn’t keep the beat. She’s seen us grow from a fledgling trio to the eight-piece powerhouse we are today. She’s our number one supporter and we can always count on her to bring the energy and love to every performance.
