Backstory:
The formation of ‘Frugal Enquiry’ is like a fairytale, set in the quaint town of Glasgow, Scotland. In 2004, while serving as baristas in a local coffee shop, James McDonald, a bassist and Liam Gallagher, a guitarist discovered their shared passion for music. Their mornings were filled with brewing coffee and afternoons with brewing melodies. With the inclusion of drummer Benny McAlister and vocalist Fiona Bell, who were regular customers at the coffee shop, the ‘Frugal Enquiry’ was officially formed in 2006. The band spent the next few years honing their sound in local gigs and small concerts, eventually earning a reputation for their distinct sound, engaging lyrics and electrifying performances.
Genre:
Frugal Enquiry brings a fresh twist to Indie Rock fused with elements of Folk and Punk music. Their sound is characterised by anthemic choruses, powerful lyrics, and an overall unpredictability that helps them stand out in the crowd.
Song Title:
“Ripped at the Edges”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1 – Em, C, G, D)
Em
Knock knock who’s there?
C
It’s just me, I swear.
G
Ripped at the edges, torn at the seams,
D
Lost in my thoughts, living in dreams.
(Chorus – G, C, Em, D)
G
Oh, can you feel the melody?
C
Behind the lines of our history.
Em
We’re ripped at the edges, but we wear it with pride,
D
Because in our hearts, we’ve got nothing to hide.
(Verse 2 – Em, C, G, D)
Em
Look around, what do you see?
C
Broken hearts, yet we break free.
G
Ripped at the edges, yet we stand tall,
D
We’ve tasted the ground, but we’ve seen it all.
(Chorus – G, C, Em, D)
G
Oh, can you hear the harmony?
C
In our songs, in our symphony.
Em
We’re ripped at the edges, yet we dance in the rain,
D
Because in our flaws, we find our strength again.
