Remorseful Sandwich

Backstory:
Remorseful Sandwich was born in the heart of Chicago’s bustling music scene in 2007. Comprised of four friends from college – lead vocalist and pianist Harry Peters, guitarist Jim Benson, drummer Scott Carter, and bassist Mike Lewis – Remorseful Sandwich started off as an excuse to blow off steam during finals week. Their original jam sessions in dorm rooms rapidly morphed into local gigs, and before they knew it, they had a cult following in the local college scene. Their unique sound, a mix of humor, heartache, and a sprinkle of existential dread, captured the hearts and minds of not just their peers but a broader audience too.

Genre:
Indie Rock with a hint of Punk Pop

Title:
“Regretful Bites”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
Em G
I took a bite of the past, tasting the regret,
C D
Salty tears, bitter laughs, moments I’d forget.

G C
I chewed on the mistakes, swallowed down the pain,
Am B
Yet the aftertaste, it still remains.

(Chorus)
D Em
Regretful bites, remorseful sandwich,
C G
Stuck between the present, past in which we languish.

(Verse 2)
Em G
Bread of burned bridges, meat of missed chances,
C D
Layers of guilt, in love’s lost dances.

G C
Condiments of sorrow, spread so thick,
Am B
A sandwich of remorse, with every lick.

(Chorus)
D Em
Regretful bites, remorseful sandwich,
C G
Caught within the whirl, of life’s cruel language.

(Bridge)
Am C
But we dine on despair, drink down the dread,
G D
Toast to tomorrow, to a future yet unread.

(Chorus)
D Em
Regretful bites, remorseful sandwich,
C G
Chewing on the past, while the present we manage.

(Final Chorus)
D Em
Regretful bites, remorseful sandwich,
C G
A meal of memories, a feast of damage.
