Ruddy Landscape

Backstory:
Ruddy Landscape, a band born in the heart of Appalachia, emerged from the raw honesty of small-town life. The founding members, Ben Grimes on vocals and guitar, Cassie O’Brien on the banjo and backup vocals, and Jack Dunston on the fiddle, met while performing in their high school talent show. They found a synthesis in their shared passion for storytelling through music. Their journey took them from late-night jam sessions in Jack’s garage to a chance meeting with a Nashville music producer at a local music festival, which led to their break into the mainstream.

The band’s signature sound stems from their roots and the experiences they had growing up in a close-knit community. Their music often reflects on the beauty and struggles of rural life, the strength of community, and the fundamental human experiences that everyone, no matter where they come from, can relate to.

Song Title:
“River’s Edge”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
[G] Down by the river’s edge, [D] under the willow’s shade,
[C] Found my peace in the quiet moments, [G] where the water and sky fade.
[D] Beneath the sun’s golden rays, [C] reflecting on the water’s curve,
[G] Whispering secrets of life and love, [D] in words only the heart observes.

(Chorus)
[C] River’s edge, [G] our sacred pledge,
[D] Be it joy or sorrow, [C] you’re my tomorrow.
[G] Amidst the ruddy landscape, [D] under the moon’s gentle cape,
[C] At the river’s edge, [D] we found our life’s hedge.

(Verse 2)
[G] Amidst the rustling leaves, [D] with the wind’s gentle tease,
[C] Lay my worries down, [G] let them ebb with ease.
[D] The river’s eternal song, [C] its relentless, rhythmic beat,
[G] Echoes of time passing, [D] in every moment we meet.

(Chorus)
[C] River’s edge, [G] our sacred pledge,
[D] Be it joy or sorrow, [C] you’re my tomorrow.
[G] Amidst the ruddy landscape, [D] under the star’s glowing tape,
[C] At the river’s edge, [D] we found our life’s hedge.
