Backstory:
Self-Assured Part was birthed in the rainy corners of Seattle, Washington, in 2006. The band was formed by childhood friends, frontman and lead guitarist Kyle Stevens and bassist Josh Murphy, who shared a mutual love for music and a dream of making it big. Over time, they were joined by drummer Laura Stevens, Kyle’s younger sister, and keyboardist Charlie Benson, a college acquaintance. Self-Assured Part began with small gigs at local pubs and coffee houses, slowly gaining recognition for their soulful lyrics and intriguing sound. Their journey has been a roller coaster ride, from overcoming creative differences to celebrating their breakthrough album’s success, reinforcing their bond and commitment to their music.
