Backstory:
Sneaky Drawing was conceived in the dimly lit garage of a small suburban home in Austin, Texas, when childhood friends – Ryan Jacobs and Casey Donovan – discovered their shared passion for music. They spent countless hours experimenting with rhythms and melodies, their raw talent and unbridled enthusiasm slowly evolving their garage band into an unmatched musical fusion. Joined by bassist Lexi James, drummer Matt Stevens, and vocalist Lisa Hart, Sneaky Drawing found their identity, their sound seeping into the veins of Austin’s vibrant music community.
The band’s name was inspired by Jacobs and Donovan’s high school mischief, often getting caught sketching in their notebooks when they should have been studying. They decided to bring that sense of rebellion, creativity, and unpredictability into their music. With their unique combination of an edgy-yet-melodic sound and unapologetic lyrics, Sneaky Drawing etched their name in the heart of Austin’s music scene.

Title:
“Paper Planes in the Rain”
Full Song Lyrics:
Verse 1: (C-G-Am-F)
(C) Rain pounding on the window, (G) as I’m throwing paper planes,
(Am) Dreaming of the places, (F) far away from this mundane.
(C) Sketched on my notebook, (G) are the secrets of my pain,
(Am) Just paper planes in the rain, (F) taking flight in vain.
Chorus: (Am-F-C-G)
(Am) And they fly, (F) fly so high,
(C) escaping the world’s prying eyes.
(G) With every fold, every crease,
(Am) stories of love, of peace.
(F) Paper planes in the rain,
(C) carrying my dreams, my secret pain.
(G) Sneaking past the clouds of disdain,
(Am) They’re just paper planes in the (G) rain.
Verse 2: (C-G-Am-F)
(C) Shadows dance on blank pages, (G) as my heart spills ink,
(Am) The thunder outside rages, (F) as my spirit begins to sink.
(C) But these paper planes, (G) they offer a link,
(Am) To a world where dreams don’t shrink, (F) on the brink.
Chorus: (Am-F-C-G)
(Am) And they fly, (F) fly so high,
(C) escaping the world’s prying eyes.
(G) With every fold, every crease,
(Am) stories of love, of peace.
(F) Paper planes in the rain,
(C) carrying my dreams, my secret pain.
(G) Sneaking past the clouds of disdain,
(Am) They’re just paper planes in the (G) rain.

Testimonial from Abigail: “Sneaky Drawing’s music is like a lifeline. Each track is raw, unfiltered, and incredibly real. They’ve created this world that, despite its challenges, is beautiful and hopeful. Their music has been a source of inspiration for my own art, and I genuinely feel seen and represented in their lyrics. In a world where everything seems so pre-packaged and artificial, Sneaky Drawing is a breath of fresh air. Their authenticity is what makes them my favorite band.”
