Sore Mess

Backstory:
Born from the heart of Dayton, Ohio, Sore Mess is an unconventional group of musicians that found unity in their shared love for creating music out of chaos. Each member had their own journey, battling personal hardships and finding solace in the expressive power of music. Their paths crossed at a local open-mic night in a dingy café, where they were drawn to each other’s raw and unfiltered talent. They quickly recognized a certain chemistry and an uncommon understanding of each other’s musical language. From that fateful night, Sore Mess was born, embodying their shared experiences and their resolution to turn their personal sore mess into a symphony of sounds.

Title:
“Broken, Not Defeated”

Full song lyrics:

(Verse 1 – E minor, G, D, A)
I walk the streets not knowing where to go,
Mistakes, regrets are the only thing I know.
Every step I take, every turn I make,
Is just another chance for me to break.

(Chorus – C, G, D, E minor)
But I’m broken, not defeated,
Still breathing, though mistreated.
In this mess, I find my song,
In this chaos, I belong.

(Verse 2 – E minor, G, D, A)
The weight of the world, heavy on my shoulder,
Each passing day, I only grow colder.
But with every scar, I’m a rising star,
Sailing through the storm, no matter how far.

(Chorus – C, G, D, E minor)
Cause I’m broken, not defeated,
Still standing, not retreated.
In this mess, I find my peace,
In this struggle, I find release.

(Outro – E minor, G, D, A)
So here’s to every tear, every silent scream,
To every shattered dream, to every broken theme.
For I am a sore mess, in this world’s distress,
But I’m broken, not defeated, and that is my success.
