Thorny Outline is the brainchild of three lifelong friends, Jackson “Jay” Thorn, Oliver “Ollie” Grey, and Noah “Lines” Linton. The trio grew up in the eclectic city of Portland, Oregon, where they were surrounded by a rich tapestry of music, art, and culture. After years of jamming in Jay’s basement, they formed Thorny Outline in 2014. The band name is a tribute to their hometown with the ‘Thorny’ representing the city’s nickname, ‘City of Roses,’ and ‘Outline’ referring to the city’s distinctive skyline.
