Backstory:
Utilized Arm was born in the gritty streets of Detroit, Michigan, in 2012. Childhood friends and music aficionados, frontman Jack “Rusty” Thompson, guitarist Andy “Mad Hatter” Simmons, bassist Tommy “Loudmouth” Baker, and drummer Sam “Ghost” Klein came together to create a band that would redefine the local music scene. They would all gather in Rusty’s garage, fine-tuning their craft, creating music that echoed their struggles, aspirations, and undying love for their city.
Their breakthrough came in 2014 when their self-produced demo caught the attention of local independent label, Motor City Sounds. The band’s raw energy and knack for creating powerfully resonant music made them a standout in Detroit’s flourishing music scene, earning them a loyal fanbase and opportunities to perform at local music festivals and venues.
