Backstory:
Violent Merit began its journey in the grimy pubs of Manchester, England in 2013. The band was formed by lead vocalist and guitarist Dylan Lewis, drummer Alex Thompson, and bassist Jacob Ward. The trio met while attending the Manchester School of Music, bonding over their shared love for alternative rock and a passion for writing lyrics that confronted the harsh realities of life, while offering a glimmer of hope. Their unique sound and raw performances quickly garnered attention, propelling them from their humble pub gigs to the main stages of festivals across the country.
In 2015, Violent Merit experienced a significant lineup change when keyboardist and backing vocalist, Amelia “Millie” Burton joined the band. Her haunting voice and synthetic beats added a new dimension to their sound, helping them to carve their niche in the music industry. Their dedication and unmatched energy have delivered four successful albums to date, with their fifth effort expected to drop soon.
