Backstory:
Weighty Date was formed in the vibrant city of New Orleans in 2003, by a group of high school friends named Mike (vocals and guitar), Tony (bass), and Rachel (drums). The trio, each with diverse musical backgrounds, decided to combine their love for rock music and their knack for storytelling, thus giving birth to their band, Weighty Date. The name was inspired by the pressure they felt about the seriousness of their endeavor – it was like a “weighty date” with destiny. They spent their early days playing at local bars and clubs, and their unique sound gradually caught the attention of the local music scene.
In 2006, they were signed onto a record label and released their debut album “Heavy Hearts”. Weighty Date became known for their deeply resonant songs that encompassed a broad range of human emotions and experiences. Despite facing various challenges over the years, including line-up changes and personal issues, they’ve remained steadfast in their passion for creating music and connecting with fans.
