Weird Cottage

Backstory:
Spawned from the sleepy small town of Glenville, Illinois, the quartet known as “Weird Cottage” was formed in 2008 when childhood friends, Andy Thomas (vocals and guitar), Pete Anderson (bass guitar), Charlie Harper (drums), and Samantha Frost (keyboards) decided to channel their shared love for music into a concrete project. The band took their name inspired by an old, eerie-looking cottage on the outskirts of town that the group often visited during their teenage years for inspiration and solitude.

After graduating from high school, the foursome dedicated themselves entirely to music, spending countless hours practicing in the very ‘weird cottage’ that gave them their name. Their unique sound slowly garnered attention, first at local venues and then spreading to the regional music scene. Weird Cottage has managed to maintain their original lineup, attributing their success to their deep-rooted friendship and shared passion for their craft.

Title:
“Dusk at the Cottage”

Full Song Lyrics:

(Verse 1)
[G] Sitting by the old stone wall, [D] secrets whispered in the hall,
[Em] Shadows of the past still looming, [C] in the cottage room we’re tuning.
[G] Dusty windows tint the sun, [D] childhood memories have begun,
[Em] Echoing laughter, secrets spinning, [C] this is just the beginning.

(Chorus)
[G] Dusk at the Cottage, [D] where our dreams took flight,
[Em] In the soft glow of twilight, [C] we found our light.
[G] Dusk at the Cottage, [D] under stars so bare,
[Em] Found home in the rhythm, [C] music floating in the air.

(Verse 2)
[G] Ghostly whispers in the wind, [D] stories of battles we have been,
[Em] The notes we strum resonate, [C] in the cottage where we create.
[G] The old piano softly hums, [D] to the beat of our young strums,
[Em] In this place where we are free, [C] to be the music we want to be.
