Backstory:
Whopping Mr was born out of the suburban chaos of Cleveland, Ohio in 2008. The band initially consisted of childhood friends, Jim ‘Whopper’ McAllister (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and Tony ‘Mr. T’ Lancer (drums). Struggling with the daily monotony of their 9-to-5 jobs, they found solace in their shared love for music. After years of jamming in their parents’ basements, the duo decided to take their music to a broader audience, and thus, Whopping Mr was born. They added two more members to their lineup, Sarah ‘Sassy’ Thompson (lead guitar) and Mike ‘Beatbox’ Bradley (bass), both of whom they met at a local music festival. Together, they forged a unique musical identity, blending thought-provoking lyrics with an electrifying sound that resonated with a wide audience.
