Wrong Voter

Backstory:

Wrong Voter was formed in the college town of Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2016. The founding members, Billy Rook (lead vocals, guitar), Lucy Gram (drums), and Jonny Hassler (bass), were all studying at the University of Michigan. As politically-minded students, they found themselves frequently at odds with the political climate of the time. It was during these heated debates and conversations that they found a creative outlet for their frustration – music. They named themselves Wrong Voter as a sarcastic nod towards the political divide they were experiencing.

In the years since their formation, Wrong Voter has become a symbol of rebellion and activism, inspiring their listeners to question the status quo and to use their voice for change. Despite their success, the band remains closely tied to their hometown, often performing impromptu gigs at local bars and venues.

Full Song Lyrics:

[intro] Em C G D

[Verse]
Em
Wake up, it’s another day,
C
Another chance for them to have their say.
G
They’re screaming loud, but are they heard?
D
Or are their words just lost and blurred?

[Chorus]
Em
Stand against the silence,
C
Raise your voice for defiance.
G
We are the wrong voters,
D
The silent note holders.

[Verse 2]
Em
Look around, what do you see?
C
A world that’s not as it should be.
G
We’ve got the power, we’ve got the might,
D
Let’s not go down without a fight.

[Chorus]
Em
Stand against the silence,
C
Raise your voice for defiance.
G
We are the wrong voters,
D
The silent note holders.

[Outro]
Em C G D
And we won’t be silent anymore…
