Backstory:
Born in the heart of New Orleans, Young Carriage got their start in the bustling jazz clubs that line the city’s streets. The band, made up of childhood friends Oliver “Ollie” Johnson on lead vocals and guitar, Benjamin “Benny” Parker on drums, and twins Simon and Samuel “Sammy” Thompson on trumpet and bass respectively, found their shared love of music in their early teens. They started playing together in their garages, school functions, and local youth festivals before being discovered by a talent scout during a Battle of the Bands competition. Young Carriage went from playing to neighborhood crowds to sold-out shows throughout the south, bringing their unique sound to the world.

Young Carriage are known for their distinct blend of Jazz, Blues, and Alternative Rock, a genre they’ve lovingly named “Jazzternative”. Their music is characterised by raw, emotive lyrics, powerful brass sections, and guitar solos that tell stories of their own.
