Backstory:
Born out of the eclectic music scene of Portland, Oregon, Zigzag Jelly first came together in a humble apartment’s garage in the summer of 2011. The band is comprised of childhood friends – lead singer and keyboardist, Alec ‘Ziggy’ Foster, bassist, George ‘Jelly’ Johnson, drummer, Rick ‘Razz’ Dalton, and guitarist, Lisa ‘Zag’ Bennett. The quirky name of the band was born out of a late-night jamming session where Ziggy and Jelly accidentally created a zigzag pattern with their jelly sandwich on the floor. This event became a metaphor for their music, a chaotic mix of tones and influences that nevertheless forms a beautifully harmonious and cohesive sound.
