Regular Brass was born out of a chance meeting at a New Orleans dive bar in the fall of 2007. The three original members, Henry “Hank” Finley, a trombone player, Marshall “Mars” Thompson, a trumpet virtuoso, and drummer extraordinaire, Lewis “Lew” Danielson were all struggling musicians trying to make a name for themselves in the bustling New Orleans music scene. They hit it off immediately and decided to create a band that fused traditional brass band elements with their love for funk and jazz, and thus Regular Brass was born.
