Woeful Participant

Backstory:
Woeful Participant is an indie rock band hailing from the streets of Seattle, Washington. The band was formed in 2009 during a local garage sale event. The band members, Jake (Lead Vocals and Guitar), Zach (Bass), Adam (Keyboard), and Mark (Drums) were all selling their old musical instruments, intending to give up on their musical dreams. However, by some stroke of serendipity, they ended up jamming together that day, sensing a unique vibe and chemistry that was too good to ignore. From that day onward, they decided to stick together, name themselves ‘Woeful Participant’ symbolizing their immense struggles, and perform in local gigs and city festivals.

Their music, often described as a mixture of melancholia and energy, soon caught the attention of a small record label, and they released their first album in 2013. Since then, they’ve toured nationally and internationally, spreading their unique sound across the globe. Despite their growth, they remain true to their roots, often returning to Seattle for surprise gigs at the local pubs where they began their journey.

Title:
“Unforeseen Horizon”

Full Song Lyrics:

Verse 1: (Am G F C)
I found my voice in the echoes of the street, (Am G)
Barefoot and broken, to a rhythmic beat, (F C)
Dreams tangled in melodies, (Am G)
Underneath the moonlit trees. (F C)

Chorus: (G Am F C)
Unforeseen horizon, show me the way, (G Am)
Through the night’s confusion, to a brighter day. (F C)
With every strum, every rhyme, (G Am)
I’m seeking solace, in borrowed time. (F C)

Verse 2: (Am G F C)
The city sleeps as the music plays, (Am G)
In every alley, in every haze, (F C)
Woeful participant of life, (Am G)
In a symphony of strife. (F C)

Chorus: (G Am F C)
Unforeseen horizon, show us the light, (G Am)
We’ll sing through the darkness, with all our might. (F C)
With every beat, every line, (G Am)
We’re chasing shadows, in borrowed time. (F C)

“Woeful Participant is my favorite band because their music speaks to my soul. The rawness of their lyrics, the intensity of their melodies—it’s as if they’ve seen into the heart of my struggles and found a way to make them beautiful. Seeing them live is an experience like no other; the energy they bring to the stage is infectious. I’ve followed them since their early days playing at local pubs in Seattle, and their music has been a constant in my life through all my triumphs and challenges. There’s no other band that so profoundly captures the essence of life’s bittersweet symphony. Woeful Participant, is, and will always be, my favorite band.”
