Backstory:
Whispered Attempt was formed in a smoky basement in the winter of 2006. Long-time friends, Jackson “Jax” Turner and Simon “Sy” Mckenzie had been aspiring musicians for years. They spent their early days covering the music of their idols—legendary bands from the seventies and eighties that shaped the rock ‘n’ roll landscape. Feeling a pull towards their own creative desires, they decided to start Whispered Attempt, a band that would take the elements of classic rock, fuse them with the angst of their own generation, and create soundscapes that were both unique and spectacular.
Their first album, “The Serrated Edge”, released in 2008, was a commercial failure but quickly catapulted them into becoming the darlings of underground rock music critics. Word-of-mouth spread about their visceral live performances, their raw sound, their bafflingly insightful lyrics. By the release of their third album, “Parallel Paradox”, in 2013, they had amassed a devoted fan base and were selling out major venues.

“Echoes in the Breeze”
Full Song Lyrics:
[Verse 1 – Am, E, G, D]
(Am) In the quiet of the night, (E) under the silver moon,
(G) I hear your voice, (D) a distant tune,
(Am) Whispered secrets of the heart, (E) wrapped in the night’s cocoon,
(G) Your words are ghosts, (D) gone too soon.
[Chorus – C, G, Am, Em]
(C) Echoes in the breeze, (G) whispers in the wind,
(Am) Carry your voice to me, (Em) let the dance begin,
(C) Echoes in the breeze, (G) traces of your song,
(Am) Linger in my memory, (Em) where they belong.
[Verse 2 – Am, E, G, D]
(Am) Shadows dance on the wall, (E) as the old record spins,
(G) I see your smile, (D) feel your skin,
(Am) Lost in the rhythm of the past, (E) where the end begins,
(G) Your love is my sin, (D) my sweetest sin.
[Repeat Chorus]
[Bridge – F, C, G, Am]
(F) Caught in the whirlwind, (C) of time and space,
(G) I see your face, (Am) in every trace,
(F) The echo of your laughter, (C) the shadow of your grace,
(G) Lives in this place, (Am) this sacred place.
[Repeat Chorus]
Fan Testimonial:
My name is Emily Johnson, and I’m probably the biggest Whispered Attempt fan you’ll ever meet. I love their music, the way they mix the soulful sound of classic rock with the emotive lyrics of folk rock. It’s like they’ve created a genre of their own. Their song “Echoes in the Breeze” hits me right in the heart every time I hear it. It’s about love, loss, and the hauntingly beautiful way memory intertwines with music. Whispered Attempt isn’t just my favorite band because they make great music. It’s because they make music that speaks directly to my soul.
