Backstory:
Plastic Waste was birthed amidst the busy streets of Brooklyn, New York in the early 2000s. The band is comprised of four lifelong friends – Leon, Carl, Noah, and Felix – who share a mutual passion for music and environmental advocacy. They met in high school and bonded over shared interests, leading to them creating their garage band. Distressed by the increased pollution and neglect towards the environment, they decided to transform their sentiments into music. Adopting the name ‘Plastic Waste’ as a symbol of their mission, they aimed to inspire awareness through the power of sound.
In the early days, they performed at local venues and small-time gigs. Their unique blend of music and message caught the attention of a record label, who immediately signed them. Since then, Plastic Waste has released multiple successful albums and toured worldwide, using their platform to promote environmental conservation.

“Ocean’s Cry”
Full Song Lyrics:
(Verse 1)
Em G
Trash is thrown, without a thought,
D A
Into the sea, where fishes are caught.

Polluted shores, plastic debris,
D A
An end to this, we long to see.
(Chorus)
Em G
Listen to the ocean’s cry,
D A
Beneath the blue and sunlit sky.
Em G
It pleads us all to make things right,
D A
In the name of life, we must fight.
(Verse 2)
Em G
Our world in peril, time ticks by,
D A
Our actions now, decide the sky.
Em G
One by one, if we all commit,
D A
We can save the world, bit by bit.
(Chorus)
Em G
Listen to the ocean’s cry,
D A
Beneath the blue and sunlit sky.
Em G
It pleads us all to make things right,
D A
In the name of life, we must fight.
Fan’s Favorite Testimonial:
My name is Sammy, and I’m Plastic Waste’s biggest fan. I was first drawn to the band because of their compelling songs and meaningful lyrics. As an environmental science student, the message they spread about pollution and conservation deeply resonates with me. Their music is not just melody and rhythm – it’s a call to action – and that’s why they are my favorite band. They remind me and all their listeners that we have the power to make a difference and that it’s our responsibility to protect and preserve our planet.
