Backstory:
Distant Metal was born in the rugged landscapes of the Pacific Northwest during the late 1980s. The band was assembled by the ambitious, charismatic lead vocalist, Jason “Roar” McKnight, and the virtuosic guitarist, Ryan “Ryzo” Hartley. Initially, they performed at local gigs, but their aggressive sounds and profound lyrics quickly resonated with the underground metal community, propelling them to stardom. Their rise to fame was not without struggle, but the sense of brotherhood and their shared passion for music helped them withstand the trials and tribulations of the industry.
In 1998, Distant Metal was on the verge of disbanding due to internal conflicts and the increasing pressure of fame. However, a chance encounter with a lone fan forced them to reevaluate their decisions. This encounter not only saved the band from falling apart but also imbued a new vigor and direction to their music.

“Distant Metal is more than just a band to me, they are like family. The raw power of their music and the depth of their lyrics profoundly resonate with me. ‘Cosmic Crusader’ was the anthem of my life during a particularly hard time, and it gave me the strength to push through. I was lucky enough to meet them once and their humility and dedication towards their fans was truly heartfelt. I am a die-hard fan and Distant Metal will always be my number one band.”
